The Granite Curling Club is a not-for-profit incorporated under the Societies Act of Alberta. It is a public and inclusive club welcoming of all ages and backgrounds, with a diverse membership in our house and rental leagues.
The Granite Curling Club is currently seeking Assistant Ice Technicians. This role is responsible for assisting with creating and maintaining the curling ice and assisting in building maintenance.
Key Accountabilities:
1. Assist in installing and maintaining high-standard curling ice
2. Inspect and maintain (clean regularly) the ice area, the curling locker rooms, the lobby viewing area, and other related areas on the main floor
3. Assist with light janitorial duties and shoveling snow when not busy on the cold side of the glass
3. Complete and document required health & safety training and related protocols
Knowledge & Skills Required:
1. Excellent customer service skills
2. Takes initiative and ownership of tasks
3. Solutions oriented and proactive in nature
4. Flexibility in personal schedule to meet needs of the business (evenings/weekends)
5. Ability to walk and maneuver with equipment on icy surfaces
6. Ability to lift and carry up to 25 kg
7. No previous experience required, however some experience in the recreation sector will be considered an asset.
Optional:
If you'd like to also pick up additional shifts upstairs in the lounge, completion of AGLC Pro-Serve training is required in order to be eligible to serve drinks in the lounge.
